Stearman talks on hold

Stearman talks on hold

Richard Stearman's future with Wolverhampton Wanderers hangs in the balance.

Stearman along with Dave Edwards, George Elokobi and Jamie Reckord are all out-of-contract at the end-of-the-season.

But with Wolves fate for next season not yet sealed, Wolves have put all talks with senior players on hold.

Wolves current form looks like it should see us through to promotion at the end of the campaign with Championship football returning to Molinuex.

But with the form of Leyton Orient and Brentford chasing Wolves down for promotion from League One, no decisions will be made until promotion is confirmed.

"I think for everybody who`s in contractual situations - barring any younger players beneath - we won`t do anything until we know what division we`re in," Jackett told the Express & Star.

Stearman of course is one of the highest earners at Molineux, with the defender still on a deal that was signed during the Premier League days.

Jackett added: "It`s something we`ll assess during the summer, but I`ve been very pleased with Richard and I see him as being part of the future.

"I think he`s done very well. I`ve picked him on a consistent basis and it`s been a good unit."
