Nothing would please Stearman more

Richard Stearman would be delighted if he could sign a new contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 26-year-old is out-of-contract at Molinuex in the summer, but whilst negotiations regarding personal terms with senior players was put on hold during the end-of-season run-in, it is thought that both Stearman and Dave Edwards would be offered fresh new deals.

Talks with Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett are yet to begin, but things do sound positive that something can be thrashed out fairly quickly.

"If something can agreed then nothing would please be more than to be here for 'x` amount of years," said Stearman to the Express & Star.

He continued: "I`m waiting now to see how things go, we`ll have to see what happens.

"I`ve always loved my time here, this season especially, it`s been great for myself personally.

"Last year I thought my time may have been up here, but luckily the gaffer wanted me here and stuck with me and hopefully I`ve rewarded him for that.

Nothing would please me more than for Stears to sign a new contract. If we are to do well next season we will need all of our best players which includes keeping our defence more or less intact....
