Wolves wait for Wood

Wolverhampton Wanderers look likely to have to wait to complete any possible business with Leicester City for striker Chris Wood.

Following their Championship winning promotion run to the Premier League, it would seem that 22-year-old Chris Wood is surplus to requirements at Leicester.

He made 29 appearances last season scoring 8 goals, but he's mainly been limited to substitute appearances.

With additions likely for their assault on the Premier League with 1million already bid for Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell and enquiries made for Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa, Wood is only going to drift further down the pecking order.

However, Leicester are unwilling to let players leave before they wrap up deals for new signings leaving Kenny Jackett playing a waiting game.

But that's unlikely to deter Jackett, as the Wolves Head Coach has previously worked with Woods at Millwall.

During a three-month loan spell towards the end of 2012, Woods scored 11 goals in 19 appearances.

If we do sign Wood and it is a possibility, given that he is out of favour at Leicester and that he has played for KJ before, it's likely that Clarke's days at WW are numbered. Would it mean that we would play in a 4-4-2 formation though?

SB60 dont know why his days would be numbered i think it depends on who KJ MOVES ON as CAS AND MAC have not proved them selves yet. That then depends on what happens with Doyle as well if he goes were left with Nicho and Wood if we sign him if we let Clarke go as well.

You're right, kiawolves: should we loan out Cassidy and McAlinden - and they do need game time in a lower division to improve their skills - we will have to keep Clarke in reserve. I just feel that KJ has decided that it was a mistake to bring Clarke back and that he will off-load him. I am prepared to be proved wrong.
