Is a Wolverhampton Wanderers bid for Coventry striker Callum Wilson imminent?
Yesterday it was believed that Nottingham Forest had beaten both Wolves and Bournemouth to the signing of Coventry striker Callum Wilson.
Forest were said to be set to unveil the Wolves target yesterday, alongside the signing of Hull City's Matty Fryatt.
Fryatt later completed the move, but Forest were then linked with Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk, apparently opening up the chase for Wilson.
Despite head coach Kenny Jackett first showing an interest in Wilson in January, it was Bournemouth who had a seven-figure bid rejected over the weekend and look set to continue talks over the £3million valued striker.
Wolves are unlikely to continue our interest at that price, but could well be among the four Championship clubs confirmed to have made an enquiry.
"We have had approaches from four Championship clubs who are keen to secure the services of one of the best young strikers around.' Coventry development director Steve Waggart told the Express & Star.
He continued: "As it stands we have rebuffed and rejected all offers that have come in.
"We`ve had what I would call four firm enquiries all together, comprising two written bids, one quite firm verbal offer and one indicative enquiry where they have said they are interested.
"They are all Championship clubs, which is to be expected to be honest.
"But we haven`t had a formal approach from Forest.
