Wolves do not need new players

If Sheffield United believe they can hold Wolverhampton Wanderers to ransom over Harry Maguire then they should think again.

Talks had been ongoing between Wolves and Sheffield United for sometime regarding the 21-year-old and we have reportedly had two bids rejected.

With Hull City increasing their bid to a fee which could eventually be worth around £2million (£1.5million upfront). Wolves will not enter a bidding war.

Sheffield United want £2million upfront, whilst Hull and Wolves have offered in the region of £1.5million.

Speculation has quietened down over the last few days, but could re-ignite once Sheffield United return to pre-season training next week.

"We won`t strengthen just for the sake of it, we`ll only take players we think are going to improve us, If we don`t get them, I`m comfortable to carry on with what we`ve got - I`m very confident of this squad.' Jackett told the Express & Star.

He added: "If there`s somebody we genuinely think has top-class potential, and is available for the right price, we won`t hesitate to strengthen.

"But there`s a certain type of player we`re looking for and that somebody has to be outstanding and make us better.

"We could quite easily start with the players we have.
