Wolves Confirm Neves & Boly Deals
The clubs transfer record has again been broken to secure the signature of Ruben Neves from Porto.
Neves' fee wasn't revealed but Wolves could 'confirm it is a club record transfer outlay.' The Portuguese international has signed a five year deal.
He told the Official Website he had always wanted to play in England and was excited by the prospect of coming to Molineux as he feels Wolves can achieve success.
'I`m very excited to play at this club. It is a very big club and I hope to help the team to win their goals. I have always wanted to play in England and we have a good team. I think we can do good things this season.'
A chance to work with his former Porto boss Nuno Espirito Santo also appealed.
Neves added: 'It is also a good opportunity for me to work again with a trainer (Nuno Espírito Santo) I worked with last year. I am very excited to start and to play in front of the fans - I love that.'
Wolves confirmed the announcement on the arrival of Neves, 20, had been delayed due to the shocking news of goalkeeper Carl Ikeme being diagnosed with Leukaemia.
His arrival was swiftly followed up by confirmation of Willy Boly's loan arrival.
Boly, 26, who is a year into a five year contract at Porto, joining them from Braga last summer, has come to Wolves on a season-long deal.
He told the Official Website: 'I`m happy to come to Wolves, I want to play well with this club and I want to make history here. I love this country and I love the football that is played here - I have always wanted to play here in England and now it`s a dream come true for me and now I will hopefully stay here for a long time.'
It goes without saying Nuno was key to French central defender Boly coming to Wolves.
Adding: 'It`s good for me because I already know the coach, I know the way that he works and that was determining factor in me coming to Wolves as it will be easier for me to adapt to the way of playing in this country alongside Nuno. I think it was two weeks ago that he asked me to come with him to Wolves and I said 'Yes`. After the holidays I came back and signed for this club.'
Both will link up with the Wolves squad for the pre-season training camp in Austria.
