Ikeme Remains As No 1

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that Carl Ikeme will continue to keep the No 1 goalkeeping jersey for the season of 2017/18.

With the earlier announcement that the player was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and started treatment, that will keep him out of next season, the club announced a number of initiatives to support him during his battle and also to raise awareness and money for Birmingham based charity Cure Leukaemia.

As well as keeping his No 1 shirt as his own for the coming year, with a bumper crowd expected for the Wolves v Middlesbrough match the club will donate 10% of all gate receipts to the charity for all home match tickets purchased for the game and Cure Leukaemia will be in attendance with donation buckets to further boost their coffers.

With Goalkeeper kits now on sale from the club, any fan who has 'Ikeme 1' printed on the back of their shirt this season will see the club donate all profits from the printing to Cure Leukaemia as well.

For shirts already purchased, the club will retrospectively make the donation.
