Wolves defender Gary Breen is expected to serve a three match ban after his sending off at Norwich last night, Breen was given a straight red for crudely bringing down Darren Huckerby as the Norwich forward was sent clean through on goal.
Breen and officials at Wolves were expecting a one match ban as the rules deemed that`s what a professional foul carries, but the referee`s report stated it was for serious foul play and Wolves are now lodging an appeal. In my eyes I`m afraid the referee has got it spot on as Breen knew what he was doing and although he will be missing for a while it saved a clear cut equaliser for Norwich.
Can`t see the FA accepting our appeal for the card to be downgraded so expect Breen to be missing from Wolves games at home to Plymouth (Feb 1st), away at Preston (Feb 10th) and finally a home game against Burnley (Feb 17th)
Jackie McNamara will also sit out of Saturday`s home game against Plymouth after being sent off for two yellow card offences at Norwich last night..
