Batth - Happy With Gaffer

Batth - Happy With Gaffer

Danny Batth has said that Wolves have an incredibly happy camp at the moment and everyone is enjoying working under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having now had our first game and first win under the new man, Werder Bremen, he's been in charge for just over a fortnight and Batth says that everything feels positive and the players are buying into what he wants from them.

Speaking to the Official Website this week, the centre half explained.

'It`s a happy camp at the moment - we`re all working hard obviously twice a day - there will be no let up in that - at this stage in pre-season you`ve just got to push yourself. All the staff behind the scenes are keeping track of what we`re doing - hopefully it will stand us all in good stead and make sure that we`re on top form when the season comes around.'

Having played our first game and picked up the one nil win, he went on to say that there were positives we could take from it, but there's certainly plenty of work left to be done.

'There were a lot of positives that we can take from the game. We`ve been working with the new coach for a few weeks now - we`ve tried to take on his ideas and implement them in the game against Werder Bremen. That was the prep talk- of course the result in pre-season is always secondary but to come away with a result as well is an added bonus. The fans who made the trip for the game will have seen a lot of positives. It was a friendly for the boys, it`s good experience to come up against a European club and it wasn't too long ago that they were in the Champions League. It was a good test for us, a good result but most importantly I thought our adaptation to the new system was really good.'

With eight new players added as well as new faces on the coaching side, Batth having come through the Academy knew it was again all change, but the current pre season tour had been perfect for getting to know everyone.

'Everyone`s getting along really well, obviously it`s a bedding in process - that`s what trips like this are for, they're for high pressure training but also about getting to know each other as people and as players. We're getting along really well and players like myself who have been here for quite a long time can help the new boys fit in. As we play more games, the onus will change from fitness towards results and that tends to happen as you go on in pre-season. As long as we get the idea of what the manager wants to do and how we're going to play - if we continues with that and get the results along the way then we will be in a good place for the start of the season.'
