Jota Delighted With Burton Win

Diogo Jota has spoken of his delight at the manner of Wolverhampton Wanderers' victory over Burton Albion at the weekend.

Travelling to the Pirelli Stadium for game, Wolves took a four nil victory with goals coming from Diogo Jota, Romain Saiss, Ruben Vinagre and Leo Bonatini and our Portuguese Under 21 international was delighted to have played his part in the win.

Speaking to the Official Website as he met with the media following the game, Jota explained.

'These are the kind of results that we want and against Burton we finally got one of those results - it`s important for our team to keep growing up. The things that we haven`t been able to do in other matches is starting well - of course when you start with two goals in the first ten minutes, that gives the team more confidence to make a good game. Sometimes we give too much time to the opponent to gain confidence in their game - today, we made a great start and that was important.'

His goal on the day means the 20 year old has now scored six times so far this campaign, and he's just happy to be out on the pitch and contributing.

'It was a different position for me but we knew that their team wanted to press us high and there would be space in behind their defence. We tried to achieve exploiting that space and hopefully we did that. A player wants to be always playing, this is the most important thing but each game is a different game with a different strategy. Therefore, some games I might have to play in a different position but that isn`t important to me.'

He went on to say.

'I never think about how many goals I am going to score over the season and it isn`t something that I will be thinking about now either. I just want to keep going and help the team to win. Playing in a different position, I can achieve different opportunities to score different kinds of goals - I`ll take whatever comes my way. Of course the result at Sheffield wasn`t the result that we wanted so to come back against Burton and get the three points was the most important thing. We go into the international break and some players go like me, but when we arrive back we just want to keep going and win again.'
