Jota In Team Of The Week (17/10/17)

Jota In Team Of The Week (17/10/17)

Wolverhampton Wanderers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Diogo Jota in the two nil victory over Aston Villa at the weekend at the Molineux was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Jota was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'The on-loan Atletico Madrid man turned in yet another superb display on Saturday evening, in Wolves` 2-0 win against East Midlands rivals Aston Villa at Molineux. His goal 10 minutes into the second half set the hosts on their way, and his trickery in the box played a huge part in the second goal, finished off by Leo Bonatini.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Jota for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Dan Bentley (Brentford), Leandro Bacuna (Reading), Ben Richards-Everton (Accrington Stanley), Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Matty Taylor (Swindon Town), Diogo Jota (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Luke Berry (Luton Town), Sammy Ameobi (Bolton Wanderers), Oliver Hawkins (Portsmouth), Tom Pope (Port Vale), Padraig Amond (Newport County).

Manager - Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City).
