Instant Reactions - Wolves v Nott'm Forest (20/1/18)
Following yesterday's clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, here are the instant reactions from both managers.
Wolverhampton Wanderers hosted Nottingham Forest at the Molineux on Saturday January 20, with the visitors taking an unexpected two nil victory.
Wolves 13 game unbeaten run came to an end as Aitor Karanka picked up his first win at Forest following his appointment as gaffer as Kieran Dowell's deflected effort from 25 yards gave them the lead as it wrong footed John Ruddy. Three minutes later Ben Osborn doubled Forest's advantage and that was where the scoring ended.
Ruddy, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty (Costa 45), Saiss, Neves (Mir Vicente 78), Douglas (Gibbs-White 45), Cavaleiro, Bonatini, Jota.
N'Diaye, Batth, Miranda, Norris.
Smith, Lichaj, Worrall, Mancienne, Fox, Bouchalakis, Cash, Bridcutt (Clough 69), Osborn, Dowell (Darikwa 83), Brereton.
Mills, Traore, Carayol, Henderson, Vellios.
Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Robert Madley blew the final whistle, Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo explained.
'I think it was one of the games where we were not as good as we could and should be. We knew that this day could come. We must improve and have to bounce back immediately from this. I am responsible maybe for not telling the boys we still have a long way to go. Nobody can relax here.'
Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka in his comparative interview explained.
'It was a real good performance, it's not easy to win here and for me the most important thing has been the commitment from everybody. We have to grow, we have to be more intense. We have a really good squad. We were passing the ball really well - if we can play with more intensity we are going to improve. The club is very well organised - we will finish the transfer window with a better squad than we have now.'
