Wolves 9 goal man Carl Cort finally makes his return tonight as the reserves travel to Kingston Park to take on his former club Newcastle United.
The striker, missing since mid October is recovering from minor knee surgery to clear debris. Amazingly, despite missing such a lengthy period he is still the clubs leading scorer, and joint 7th in the divisional top 10.The news of his return to action was as much a surprise to the player, as it is to many fans. Speaking to Wolves World earlier today he said
"i actually got the call last night,I didn't know anything about it myself. I didnt expect myself to be involved today. Ive been training over the last week or so and been feeling pretty good, so it should be a good opportunity to put that into a game."
Music to many Wolves fans ears. Carl Cort may have his critics on the terraces, but missing his presence in front of goal, Wolves have rarely looked as threatening as an attacking force
The match also sees the return of youngster Mark Davies who has been out for several weeks recovering form a hernia operation.
