It took just 5 minutes for Carl Cort to show what Wolves have been missing when the reserves met Newcastle United's second string at Kingston Park on tuesday night.A Daniel Jones cross found Cort and he made no mistake, heading home unchallenged from 8 yards.
Newcastle hit back with a goal from Carl Finnigan who nodded the ball into an empty net on 22 minutes following a Michael Chopra header that rattled the bar.At the start of the second half Cort was replaced by Joshua Ferran, and Wolves looked good for a point until substitute Daryl Smylie scored for Newcastle in the 78th minute, with a low drive from the edge of the penalty area.
Wolves failed to come up with an answer, but for Glenn Hoddle the news of a Carl Cort goal and 45 minutes under his belt will be of far greater interest.
