'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Exceeding All Expectations

Wolves fans have long wondered why they have been unable to unearth lower league gem whilst other teams around them seem able.

Now, those days are over as in Michael Kightly, they have a player whose true worth is far in excess of the £25,000 paid to Grays for his services.

Mick McCarthy has already gone on record as saying that he would have been happy to put up his own money to sign Kightly, such was his faith in his ability to perform at Championship level.

Following yet another outstanding performance in Wolves 3-2 win over Luton, the manager once again found himself looking for superlatives to describe the performance of his wing wonder who might have scored Wolves opener, and whose parried shot led to their equalizer.

'When you sign players from that level or below, of course you want them to do well and you hope they will,' said McCarthy.

'From day one, I knew he could play. But I could never have expected him to be as good as he has been.

'Kightly has been a revelation. To see someone performing like that is refreshing. 'Kights' was rejected by Tottenham and Southend, but he has proved that dropping out of the league is not always the worst thing.'

stunning that he went unnoticed by so called 'bigger' championship clubs. could be a key-man for wolves' promtion hopes. only wish southampton had a striker as exciting as him.
