Ward Hopeful

Stephen Ward has spent the weekend with his knee packed in ice, and now feels confident he will be fit for Sunday's key clash with The Baggies.

Ward was stretchered off against Luton in some discomfort after a nasty kick to his knee, but the injury appears not to be as bad as first feared, as he explained tro the clubs official site.

'After the first impact, I couldn't feel my knee cap 'Then I got pins and needles all down my leg. When I came off the doctor saw me and said that the nerve behind the knee had triggered the reaction and that it's a bad place to get a knock because there's not much protection.

'But thankfully it's not as serious as I first thought it was going to be. It seems just to be bad bruising.

'It's unfortunate because we are flying at the moment and the last thing I want is to start missing out through injury.

'But I'm already feeling a lot better and I'm hopeful that I'll be fit for the weekend.'
