Oakes In For Recall

Michael Oakes is set for a recall to the first team on Saturday when Wolves entertain Plymouth at Molineux in the FA Cup 3rd round.

With Wolves and Aston Villa still to reach an agreement on the future of the loan goalkeeper, and Matt Murray still a long term absentee, Glenn Hoddle may look to Oakes to fill the gap left by the usually capable Postma.

Up until Christmas, Stefan had been in fine form, but 2 recent mix ups with Joleon Lescott have led to the side conceding needless goals, and more importantly, dropping points they can ill afford to lose.

There is still time for Villa and Wolves to reach an agreement, the deadline to be eligible for Saturday’s FA Cup tie is midday on Friday, but it now looks likely that Oakes will be given the chance to snatch the ‘keepers jersey back from Stefan. Maurice Ross is also available after impressing first time round against Plymouth.
