Anxious Wait On Murray

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy faces an anxious wait on the fitness of in form 'keeper Matt Murray.

Murray appeared to land awkwardly stretching to block a shot toward the end of Wolves 2-1 defeat to Coventry City, and was forced to play on in considerable pain with Wolves having used all three subs, finishing the match hobbling on one foot.

With Michael Oakes and Karl Ikeme both still out injured, McCarthy would be forced into either using Danish 'keeper Jan Budtz, on loan from Doncaster Rovers or recalling Stephen Hennessey currently on loan to Stockport should the injury prove to be serious.

The loss of Murray for any time at all would be a serious dent to Wolves promotion credentials, but McCarthy remains philosophical.

We'll know better how Matt is tomorrow,' he said following the game

'It's too soon to make a judgement. He landed on it and he's a big fella, isn't he? As he landed he rocked his knee - we'll see how it is tomorrow.

'We can always call the record breaker back from Stockport, as he's on 24 hour recall.'
