'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Proud To Be At Wolves

Just about every Premiership manager is said to be keeping their eye on Michael Kightly.

Following his impressive displays since arriving at Molineux, the big boys have taken note of the player dubbed 'the Ryan Giggs of non league' whilst at Grays.

With one report citing sources close to teh player saying he will weigh up his options in the next few weeks, Kightly has spoken to the E & S to make his position clear.

"It is a good thing to be linked with clubs because it shows you`re doing well. If I wasn`t doing well then no-one would be looking at me," he said.

"But, like I have said a number of times, I am happy at Wolves and my main aim is to concentrate on getting promoted this season.'

Kightly is currently the club's joint top scorer, with 6 goals in 17 games and his performances have helped the side climb the table up to fifth position.

So news that he sees his immediate future at Molineux and not as some would have you believe, Fratton or Goodison Park will come as music to Wolves fans ears.

"I want to be here next season and hopefully we`ll be in the Premiership by then," he said.

"That`s what I`m concentrating on at the moment - trying to get us into the top flight.

"But if we`re still in the Championship I want to help us get promoted out of the division. I`m happy here - it`s a huge club and I`m proud to play for Wolves."

It's refreshing to hear a player express that kind of passion for a club that was prepared to take a gamble on their abilities, while others dithered, unsure of a 25,000 investment in an unknown quantity.

But then as Wolves fans will be happy to point out, there's only one Michael Kightly.

And he's ours.
