Wolves Nigerian international Seyi George Olofinjana has reacted angrily to unsubstantiated rumours started at home that he is actively seeking a move away from

olineux.

The article in question, both inaccurate and untruthful surfaced on a Nigerian website and claims that during the recent international break Olofanjana indicated his determination to leave Molineux and seek Premiership football elsewhere.

The visibly upset Super Eagle responded on the clubs official website saying.

'I never granted anyone an interview saying I wanted to leave Wolves. I came here initially because I knew about the club, and its a club after my own heart. I wouldn't have said that.'

'I would have preferred everything to have been done (with my contract) before I put it into the public domain but I want fans to know that Wolves is a club after my own heart.

'This article is rude and nasty. I didn't say those things and I will be contacting the Nigerian FA because I am unhappy with this.'

Why anyone would wish to spread rumours about Seyi is baffling to say the least. Quiet, private, and deeply religious he has to be one of the least deserving targets of this kind of treatment.

The only positive to come out of it is the news that contract talks are already under way to keep him at Molineux beyond 2008.

As they say, every cloud has a silver lining.
