McCarthy Ready With Bid

A report in the Irish press suggests Wolves boss Mick McCarthy may be planning to raid the Eircom League once more in the Summer to the tune of £600,000.

Monday saw McCarthy and assistant Ian Evans, the former Ireland management team travel to Dublin to watch Cork and Republic of Ireland under-21 star Roy O`Donovan.

And according to Wednesday`s Irish Daily Mirror, McCarthy is now ready to splash the cash to strengthen Wolves forward line.

If he secures the player, it will be a real coup with representatives from Crystal Palace, Leicester and Celtic also tracking the hotly tipped youngster.

Cork City manager Damien Richardson has already paved the way for the move saying

"What you want is to be treated with respect and I`m sure that is how Mick [McCarthy] approaches these issues.

"We don`t want players to leave but you have to look at the reality of the situation. Players have ambitions and as long as everyone treats the process with integrity, there are no problems."
