Clingan To Forest

Northern Irish midfielder Sammy Clingan travels across the midlands to The City Ground today to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Chesterfield, where he has played 30 league games across two loan spells. Sammy has failed to break into the Wolves senior 11 despite being a reserves regular, captaining the side on many occasion, and regularly training with the first team.

He travelled to Portugal with the main squad prior to the clubs Premiership season, and in that year made the bench twice, but after again completing pre season with the seniors in 2004 failed to progress any further. He spent 3 months on loan at Chesterfield that season, returning to them at the start of the 2005 campaign where he has made 20 appearances, scoring once. The fee has not been disclosed.
