Olofinjana Misses Out

Nigeria have named their 23 man Super Eagles squad for the African Nations Cup finals in Egypt It includes highly rated youngsters John Obi Mikel and Sani Kaita. But there is no place for Wolves Seyi Olofinjana.

Seyi has suffered a terrible dip in form this season, and has seen his chances in the Wolves starting 11 so far restricted. Although Glenn Hoddle has always offered his public support for the technically gifted midfield player. It was hoped a good ANC campaign would see him return with renewed confidence. But those seem to have been dashed by his ommision from the team list.

Any indication that this is due to lack of first team football is bound to have an effect on Seyi's stay at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Rumours of a move already circulating see him travelling back to Scandinavia, probably Norway during the transfer window.

Losing his place in the Nigerian squad on the eve of their continents flagship tournament can only add to the speculation surrounding his future.
