Moxey On Mcleod

After finally losing patience with MK Dons, Wolves CEO Jez Moxey has spoken out to clarify the club's position on Izale Mcleod.

'We made two improved offers to MK Dons, both of which were turned down, and since then we've moved on to other business.' he told the clubs official site.

'It's unfortunate, and I feel sorry for the player because we wanted to sign Izale and remain interested in him, but you have to draw the line somewhere and we did just that.'

'When Dons chairman Pete Winkelman came back to me to say he would now accept our last offer, and gave us permission to speak to the player about personal terms, I said we would have to wait until we knew the outcome of the other negotiations that we had commenced.

'Had our final offer been accepted when it was made, Izale McLeod would probably be a Wolves player now.

'We will continue to monitor his progress.'

With negotiations seemingly faltering in Alicante, it hasnt been the best of weeks for the Wolves CEO. But Moxey is a canny player in the transfer market, and whilst this may look like him cutting his nose off to spite his face, its also a long way from the days of 'The Golden Tit'.

Neither the Mcleod deal, nor the Frankowski deal is dead in the water yet. But Jez Moxey still has a lot of work left to do before January ends to get Glenn Hoddle's men onto the payroll.
