The former England international coach will run the risk of another torrent of abuse from the Molineux boo boys being aimed at his 20-year-old striker, who caused outrage after he JEERED his own set of supporters, after scoring his first goal in five months in last weekend's FA Cup tie victory over Plymouth Argyle.
Clarke, a graduate of the Wolves Youth Academy, was the target of boos from the home crowd leading up to his 26th minute winner - a tap-in to the bottom corner from a Colin Cameron cross - but scenes turned ugly after Clarke ran towards both the Jack Harris and Billy Wright flanks with a finger to his lips.
But Hoddle today reiterated his support and loyalty to his young forward, who has scored just two goals all season, he said:
'I stuck with Leon and will do it again. We need a bit of pace and he came up trumps.
'He's got potential but knows he's got to work harder to improve. And that goal will have given him confidence.'
