'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sparky : I Just Want To Play

Mark Kennedy is said to have the best left foot outside of The Premiership, something Vital Wolves whole heartedly agrees with.

The Wolves number 11 , signed from Manchester City in 2001 for £2 million has never been a prolific goal scorer, but doesnt lose any sleep over his lack of goals, as long as the team get the right result.

'The goals thing isn't something I worry about - as long as we win it doesn't matter who scores,' said Kennedy.

'Of course it is important that by the end of the season the ratio of goals is shared throughout the team and we all need to pop up with a few more. But it's certainly not for the want of trying.'

Kennedy went to close to ending his drought on Friday night, having several shots saved, and hitting the outside of the post, in a performance that harked back to his days as a flying winger.

Glenn Hoddle has utilised Kenedy in a number of positon both in midfield and defence, but its in eth centre of the park that he still feels most at home. Although he'd play just about anywhere if it meant that his name still got on the teamsheet.

'My first choice would be to play in midfield,' he said. 'But as any of the lads will tell you, if you're in the team you're happy.'

"We've got some big players on the bench not involved and I'm sure they would do anything to play wing back if they were given the chance so you won't hear me complaining." he added

Friday's second half performance certainly showed that 'Sparky' still has the spark.

With a vital few weeks ahead for the team, Wolves fans will be hoping that spark soon turns into a fire. And maybe, just for old times sake, a goal or two.
