Transfer Turnaround

Earlier this week, Wolves CEO Jez Moxey announced that in keeping with the gentlemanly silence the club adhered to during Steve Morgan's takeover bid, Wolves would not be shouting their summer transfer activity from the rooftops.

Although silence shouldn't be interpreted as inactivity.

'I think this is going to be an eventful summer but I would ask our supporters to be patient. A lot of work is going on behind the scenes to try and strengthen the squad for the start of the new season.' he told the club's official site.

While some of the local media, who it has to be said have been less than kind to Wolves of late, and occasionally wildly innacurate, are intimatng that sources within Molineux are indicating improved bids for Billy Sharp and Freddie Eastwood are imminent, those that matter, Dave Bowman, Mick McCarthy and Jez Moxey are remaining silent on the subject.

A refreshing change from the days when all the world knew who we were chasing, which frequently allowed clubs to sneak in and steal targets at the last moment, or at times worse, led to pressure building to make the deal, and subsequently pay over the odds unnecessarily.

The three that matter have shown that as a unit, they can work well together in identifying the right players, and aquiring them for a decent price, with minimal fuss.

A policy that wont change for all of Steve Morgans millions.

Something we at Olofin Towers can only applaud
