Wolves At Home To Hornets

Wolves 2007/8 Championship season kicks off on August 11th with a home game against newly relegated Watford.

The fixture offers up an intriguing match between two sides who finished at opposite ends of the expectations scale last season.

Other highlights in the newly released list are Saturday the 24th of November, and the 8th of March when Wolves take on black country rivals West Brom, although the festive period fixtures have been less than kind to the travelling Wanderers faithfull, with back to back away trips to Hull and Norwich, and the list also includes midweek trips to Southampton, Preston, Cardiff, Blackpool and Barnsley.

Nice one Football League guys. Once again, more marvellous planning for those joyous away days to beacons of culture and enlightenment.

The normal season ends on Sunday May the 4th, with a home tie with Plymouth.

Not a bad first game of the season! What a cracker! With a bit of wise strengthening, and Watford hopefully losing a few players, we should be in for a real gem! The first game of the season usually sets the tone for the up and coming 9 months, and a win against another Promotion favourite surely boosts confidence massively! On the other hand, not many will be expecting the wanderers to come away with all 3 points, so a loss or a draw surely won’t dampen our spirits too much. Anyway, lets not talk about losing hey – and concentrate on getting to the Premiership! Shame about all the long distance away games in the midweek, especially Southampton on a Tuesday night in November, where wolves never win… Glad we play the Albion on those dates, similar to last season -> leading to an exciting game hopefully in March again. The last four games of the season also all seem winnable, with the exception of Coventry away where 2 points would suit me fine =P Sat Apr 12 Bristol City A Sat Apr 19 Ipswich Town H Sat Apr 26 Coventry City A Sun May 4 Plymouth Argyle H Anyway – let the season begin – were all ready!
