Franek's Chance

Mick McCarthy has offered Wolves misfit Tomasz Frankowski an olive branch in a bid to find the striker a new club.

Having returned from Tenerife to start pre season training with the rest of the squad, he has been made aware by the manager that it is up to him to generate a move in the transfer window.

'There's not been any interest in Tomasz yet,' McCarthy told Paul Berry 'We've been proactive in trying to find Tomasz a club and his agent has as well.'

'Getting himself fit and ready means he's going to have more chance of a move anyway. If someone got a face like a slapped backside it's not going to help them.'

But while he remains at the club,McCarthy is refusing to deny the Pole a chance of forcing his way into his plans.

'But when he comes back he trains and is part of it, there's no suggestion he's not.'

Heeding his managers words, Franek has appeared happy in early training sessions, which may not have always been the case 12 months ago.

Whether he manages to force his way into McCarthy's reckoning remains to be seen.

After failing to impress the manager in the first few months following Glenn Hoddle's resignation, the odds would appear to be stacked aganst him, but there are still those, Vital Wolves included, who feel that he deserves the chance to prove his critics wrong.

You have gotta give this guy a chance!! £1.5M and not a single goal yet!! He's got it in him, he's done it at International level, it's all about confidence, with MM behind him i think he could make a great squad player at the very least! I say keep him!

I fully agree that he should be given every chance to prove himself , whatever people think of GH he wasnt blind and T.F had an impressive strike rate before joining WWFC ,Mick M can give him back his confidence and get the best out of him and we then have a another International on the books.

I think the key is how he applies himself in training. I know that was one area where he didn't impress before he went to Tenerife,

we have a stck invested in him, and we are paying him so it's in our interest to try and get him firing again. Hopefully he can get fit and regain his form and end his career with some pride

if he's not happy there is no point in trying to keep him, but having said that if he's knuckling down in training he might just train and play his way to happiness and come off of the transfer list.

Bucking the above trend, I can't see it coming off for him at Wolves. He will be forever dogged and labelled as the 'missing piece' in the Hoddle jigsaw, a puzzle which unfortunately had no picture on the box. With Freddie, Keogh, Jay and Ward and his form at Tenerife, I can't see it happpening for Frankowski at Molineux.
