Mick Earns Licence

Mick McCarthy has every right to be walking a little taller this week, having graduated`at Warwick University and attained the coveted UEFA Pro Licence, which is the mandatory qualification needed to manage in the Premiership.

The course, lasting a year requires 240 hours of study, combining a mixture of distance learning, online learning and conference calls, and a weeks residential course at the University itself.

Whilst there are a few exceptions to holding the licence at the moment, beyond 2010 no manager will be allowed to coach in The Premiership. It will simply be a case of no badge, no job.

Congratulations Mick

I think caretaker managers employed for less than 12 weeks might still retain an exemption after 2010. You need it tyo manage in the UEFA Cup and Champs League as well
