'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Is The Book Shut?

Wolves CEO Jez Noxey issued a warning to fans expecting an avalanche of new signings in the next week today, saying '"We have nothing imminent at the moment. As has been proved by the situation with Freddy Eastwood, these transfers do take a long time to complete.'

That's not to say Mick McCarthy won't be making new signings before August 11th. There si a clear need to make additions in defence, particularly in the full back departmant, but it is highly unlikely that anything will materialise before Wolves face Grays Athletic in their first pre season friendly next week.

There can be few complaints regarding McCarthy's three buys so far. Each offering new options in key roles, and none has broken the bank in their aquisition.

With just over a month to go, and Premiership sides still unsure who will be surpluss and available for loans, there is still plenty of time for new faces to join McCarthy's squad intent on promotion.

I think the board have done an excellent job so far, I’m sure there will be two or three more before the season starts.
