Grays v Wolves

Wolves play their first game of the pre-season this weekend with a trip to Grays. The game was set up as part of the deal that saw Michael Kightly join the club. Vital Wolves will bring you an indepth pre-view of this game at the end of the week. A good turn out is expected from the travelling fans and here is everything you need to get to the game.

How to get there

By Car
Head to Junction 30 of the M25. Then the A13 towards Southend. When you reach the Grays exit follow the signs to the town centre. You will hit a one way system so keep left and continue up the hill for half a mile. Turn right onto Bridge Road, the ground is situated on the right.


Parking - Parking at the ground is very limited but there is a small public car park across the road from the main entrance. This is free to use. There is also a large mulit-storey car park, which is a 6 minute walk from the ground

By Train
Grays is situated on the London- Tilbury-Southend line. From Fenchurch Street the ground is a 7 minute walk

The Ground

The New Rec was redeveloped 3 years ago to meet the criteria required for the Conference. The ground has a main stand that holds 1000 people, The rest of the ground is terracing which holds 2000. This is normally split 1500 for home fans 500 for away fans. The Bradbourne Road end is the usual away entrance

Prices - Adult £10 Child/OAP - £5
The Recreation Ground does not allow smoking in any covered area of the ground

Where to drink
The club has it own bar and was voted 'the best in non league. Visiting supporters are classed as Grays Athletic club members for the day. However the police can decide to ban away fans from using the facility if they wish. A pub popular with away fans is the nearby Bricklayers Arms, this is situated just across the road from the ground.
