Wolves Squad Announced

Wolves travelling squad to face Grays Athletic has been announced.

With Mick McCarthy already expressing his intention to field two sides, each playing 45 minutes, the fixture gives Wolves fans their first chance to see new signings Freddy Eastwood, Darren Ward and Matty Jarvis, as well as a run out for youngsters Elliott Bennett, Liam Hughes, Lee Collins, Matthew Bailey and the highly rated Mark Salmon.

There's no place for Mark Davies or Michael McIndoe though and the fixture comes too early to see the return of 'keeper Matt Murray.

Mick McCarthy told the club's official site "We'll mix the team up with 11 going out in the first 45 minutes and a complete switch with another 11 for the second half,"

"It's just a case of getting the ball rolling with fitness, closing people down and then getting hold of the ball.

"And the players knowing they'll have 45 minutes means they can really work and put a shift in."

I canít understand why MM is reluctant to include Mark Davies in his plans, he didnít fit in last year and this season seems to be starting the same. Davies is a good attacking midfield player with an excellent work ethic, the sort of player you need to turn to when the wingers arenít performing.

Mark Davies is injured. He sat out training yesterday with a sore knee. No idea why McIndoe isn't in, no reports of him being injured.

MM doesn't have a problem with MD, as some think. He didn't play when fit last year because other midfielders were keeping him out of the side. Simple as, and that's from the horses mouth.
