Elche Press Conference

This morning at 11.30 am, Elche President Ramon Sanchez held a press conference.

Elche fans believed that the under fire President was to announce his resignation, handing over the reigns to Vice President Jose Sepulchre.

In a brief statement Sanchez said that yes, resignation was on his mind, but he had not fully decided whether it was time for him to go or not, leaving the ' ilicitanos' both frustrated and perplexed.

Sanchez avoided publicly stating the one thing Elche fans were longing to hear. Franowski was not about to leave.

There is now intense speculation in the Spanish media that the deal has been agreed, and an announcement is imminent.

If this were not the case, a press confrence less than 36 hours before Elche's next match would have been the ideal opportunity to deny the claims.

In the absence of either denial or confirmation, all eyes will now be on Alicante Sunday evening for further announcements.
