Ifil A Little Confused

Ifil A Little Confused

A report in todays copy of pensioners favourite The Daily Mirror suggests that Wolves are one of many clubs tracking Tottenham defender Phil Ifil.

Is this the same Ifil currently featurng heavily in Spurs pre-season build up?

The same Phil Ifil quoted on Spurs official site yesterday as saying 'I'm out here training hard and working with the First team so all I can do is try my hardest and see where it takes me,'

'Martin (Jol) has given me my chance and it is up to me to take it and show him that I should be in the squad.'

There is always a possibility that Ifil is being put in the shop window by Jol ahead of a move away from White Hart Lane.

But with Pascal Chimbonda a target for Chelsea, Jol would be left with only Ifil and Paul Stalteri to fill the right back slot should Mourinho get his man, making an Ifil transfer seem unlikely.

Any more defenders out there we could be linked with?

Plenty.

Any Mick McCarthy would like to see in Old Gold?

Probably.

So I'm sure we'll see more of the same from the red tops before the close of the current transfer window.

That's not Ifil in the pic, it's Barcham! ScottDaYid - Not according to Vital Spurs ;)--------- he has just penned a five year deal, Jol may let him go on a season long loan. he is good now but has the potential to become quality, a year with you lot would do him the world of good. i hope the Wolves have a great season and come back to the top flight where you belong!!!!!!!!!!! FOLKESTONE YID---- Cheers FY

this would be an excellent loan signing for all parties, Ifil needs a higher level of football and being 3rd choice at spurs, he aint getting it there, I make Wolves a very good shout for an automatic promotion spot this season, so playing in a successfull side can only improve his game and you will be getting a top player at the same time.

I think we are only after loanee's at the moment. I'd love to see him at Molineux , but would it not leave you short of right backs?

I think Lee Young Pyo can play right back (when fit) and after a shakey first season improved alot last term so i think we'll be ok. Besides, i'm sure any Chimbonda deal would include Johnson

Thats certainly the rumour. Maybe Jol IS only putting him in the shop window, but he does seem to be focussed on a starting spot with Spurs

It has to be loan or nothing, I doubt we could afford him, and to be honest, i think its going to be honest. I wouldnt trust the Mirror
