Return Of The Matt

Wolverhampton Wanderers almost forgotten 'keeper Matt Murray is hours away from his long awaited comeback.

Matt will take the field for the reserves tonight in their fixture with Liverpool's second string.

Glenn Hoddle told the clubs official site

'This is good news for Matt,'

'He's had his ups and downs but has worked tirelessly at his rehabilitation and he's now looking sharp out on the training ground.

'This type of injury was always going to take a long time but he is getting closer. Playing for the reserves is the last building block of his comeback.'

No one who witnessed his heroics in Wolves PLay Off Final win at Cardiff will need reminding of what an exceptional talent Matt Murray is.

Many Wolves fans believe that had he been available throughout their Premiership season, their brief stay in the top flight may well have been extended.

There's also good news for former Celtic captain Jackie Mac, still recovering from cruciate surgery. Glenn Hoddle believes he is now inside two months of resuming full training.

'Jackie is progressing really well and appears to be ahead of schedule. He is still six or seven weeks away from being back in full training but the signs are good. There's no pressure on him to come back ahead of time but this is good news for him because he has been working very hard.'

Great news for both players and Wolves fans alike.
