Palace Deny Cameron Link

Crystal Palace have released a statement to the effect they have no interest in securing the services of Colin Cameron.

The 33 year old Scot is out of contract at the end of the season, and has been told that if an attractive offer comes his way he can leave.

'We've been linked with a lot of players' an official spokesperson said.

'We haven't made a bid for Cameron.'

Glenn Hoddle has been at pains to point out that the decision was made for the benefit of the player, and not in an attempt to get rid of him.

Should no offer be forthcoming in January, Hoddle will be more than glad to have him in his squad to call upon for the rest of the season.

Colin Cameron has been a fantastic player for the club and he will be sorely missed by the fans who have always shown appreciation for his gritty, attacking style.

And it looks like they may well get the chance to show that to him in person if no other club tables an offer that is acceptable to him in the next few days.
