Springboard To Honours

Wolves defender Kevin Foley has joined Molineux's growing band of Internationals, earning a call up to the Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers against the Czech Republic and and Slovakia following an injury to Newcastles Steven Carr.

And he believes his move to Wanderers has been instrumental in helping him break into the national set up.

Speaking to the clubs official site Foley said

'I'm sure coming to Wolves will enhance my international career because League One football with Luton wouldn't have been much of a help, even if I'd been playing there at the very top of my game.

'With Andy and Potts involved, I'm also likely to be watched and noticed more often now I'm with Wolves.'

Andy Keogh and Stephen Ward are also included in Steve Stauntons squad for the Internationals with Slovakia on September 8 in Bratislava, and Czech Republic in Prague four days later.

Squad in full

Colgan (Barnsley), Doyle (Birmingham City), Given (Newcastle Utd), Henderson, (Preston North End), Dunne (Man City), Finnan (Liverpool), Foley (Wolves), Kelly (Birmingham City), McShane (Sunderland), O'Shea (Man Utd), Carsley (Everton), Douglas (Leeds), Gibson (Man Utd), Hunt (Reading), Ireland (Man City), Kilbane (Wigan), McGeady (Celtic), O'Brien (Hibernian), Potter (Wolves), A Reid (Charlton), Doyle (Reading), Keane (Tottenham), Keogh (Wolves), Long (Reading), Murphy (Sunderland).

It is always great to have Wolves players in the various British and foreign international teams. It raises the clubs profile, allows invaluable scope for individual player`s progress as well as providing the chance to see them on the telly!
