Life In The Fast Lane
There are certain advantages to having a multi millionaire owner.
Roman Abramovic lets his players borrow his yacht. Malcolm Glaser lets Manchester United borrow his overdraft, and Ken Bates lets Denis Wise use his property development for a kick about every other Saturday. He's good like that.
When Mick McCarthy needed a solution to getting his travelling Internationals home a day early, Steve Morgan's financial clout came to the rescue.
Fearing a repeat of the lacklustre performances that followed the last friendly Internationals, Wolves dispatched Morgan's private jet to pick up Freddy Eastwood, Wayne Hennessey, Kevin Foley and Andy Keogh, bringing them home 24 hours early, giving them vital training time with the rest of the squad ahead of Saturdays trip to Sheffield.
Talking to the clubs official site, CEO Jez Moxey said :
'I spoke to Steve Morgan and he was in agreement. We also brought two Birmingham players back to help cover the costs.
'Bringing them back last night meant they could sleep in their own beds and be available for training this today.
'They can now get two sessions in before a very important game against Sheffield United on Saturday.'
Nice touch Steve.
