Clarke To Join Hoops?

Leon Clarke looks set to join QPR on loan for at least the rest of the season.

Leon signed a two-year contract extension in March, 2004, with the possibility of Wolves adding another year, but this season he has found the going tough, and has had to bear the brunt of terrace derision.

The situation reached boiling point when after enduring a barrage of hate from the terraces Leon scored against Plymouth and ran to the crowd holding his finger to his lips to silence the boo boys.

An apology was later forthcoming, but for some the damage was done, and forgiveness was in short supply.

Leon burst into the first team at the start of last season, and was an instant hit with the fans appreciative of the local lad come good.

But opinion turned against him this season as Wolves struggled to find the net and now Glenn Hoddle is prepared to let Leon temporarily leave in the hope of kick starting his fledgling career.

Last seasons Young Player Of The Year has attracted the attention of several clubs which would suggest that outside Molineux at least, there are those that feel the 20 year old still has potential.

Any deal is sure to include a clause preventing him playing against Wolves when they travel to Loftus Road.

Hopefully, the move will allow Leon to regain some of the confidence lost this season, and return a stronger player

"barrage of hate". What shabby writing. You're rubbish.
