'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Backstabs & Backtracks

There is a feeling amongst Wanderers fans that certain corners of the midlands press will stop at nothing to destabilise Wolves and their players.

Once again, this week that appeared to be alltoo true.

With a sensationalist headline, and a few out of context quotes lifted from a Northampton newspaper, and uncredited at that, winger Daniel Jones has been the latest player to fall victim to the ailment that is known at Olofin Towers as Distress and Barf.

But wait, it's OK. The young lad had the gumption to contact the media to put the record straight. So that's alright then.

In some other world maybe, but not the real one.

When credibility and integrity can be sacrificed in the rush to improve those all important ABC's, it must surely be time to take stock and reassess exactly why you entered the field of journalism, and at what point you turned into a tired hack.

Daniel Jones doesnt deserve an opportunity to put the record straight, he deserves a public apology, but I doubt that he will ever get one.

It's much easier to print words, than it is to swallow them.
