Wolves' Postma Owns Up

Stefan Postma has been performing solidly for Wolves since an injury to Michael Oakes first gave him his opporunity in the side.

But a schoolboy error on his part on Saturday cost Wolves all 3 point when he gifted Matty Fryatt the games only goal.

'I'm very disappointed and it will be difficult to sleep after this,' he told the icbirmigham website.

'I think I played a good game up until then but, as a goalkeeper, you make a mistake like that and you're the villain of the game. Keepers maybe make three mistakes a season, and if you're lucky the team win the game and it's forgotten.

'If not, like at Leicester, you make a mistake and the team lose the game and all I can do is hold my hands up and apologise.'

Perhaps Postma was unlucky with a slight deflection on the innocuous looking header he dropeed at the feet of Fryatt.

But Stefan doesn't use that to hide either his misatke, or the teams overall performance.

'I saw the ball coming but then I think it hit Fryatt's shoulder and then bobbled on my fingers and dropped down. Looking back I suppose I could have parried it, not taken a risk and just smashed it away. I didn't, and we lost the game to my mistake but I think we were shocking."

Wolves cannot afford to make many more personal mistakes like Postma's that cost them games.

If they are to gain promotion then this apology from Stefan Postma has to be the last one.

Its now time for results.
