Wolves Extend Unbeaten Run

Wolves extended their unbeaten run to six matches as they closed the gap on Championship leaders Watford after a 1-0 win against Preston.

Preston had their chances but Karl Henry proved the match winner with his 25-yard strike, Freddie Eastwood also hit the post but Preston did have a goal ruled out for offside. The win moves Wolves up to third, three points behind Watford and two behind second placed West Brom.

Mick McCarthy spoke about various things after the game: "If we don't play that free-flowing football that we like to play - we win the game.

"I'm pleased it was Freddy Eastwood who missed three goals. He's the fans hero at the moment and if it was anyone else the fans would have got on their back.

"Karl Henry was fantastic. We have been banging on to Karl to pull the trigger."

Wolves travel to Barnsley on Tuesday night.
