McCarthy - We Were Hopeless!
Mick McCarthy paid tribute to his opponents but refused to take any positives from the 1-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Barnsley at Oakwell on Tuesday night, branding his side hopeless: "We were hopeless, I can't find a better adjective for that performance.
"I am not going to take anything away from Barnsley, they were very competitive and deserved their win.
"That was us three or four weeks ago, that level of performance (by Barnsley) and we have to get back to it."
An error from Karl Henry gifted Istvan Ferenczi the winning goal, but even then Wolves could have equalised, even if it would have been undeserving by Barnsley's German goalkeeper Heinz Muller saved an Andy Keogh penalty to see Wolves slip down to sixth in the table.
