Rumour Mill

It's that time of the year again when apparent pure guesswork can be passed off as fact.

The January transfer window!

Having hit a rough patch it's hardly surprising that for the most part the Wolves squad looks like remaining untouched by the rumour mill.

Almost as unsurprising as the two players that are.

A straw poll of any supporters with the slightest knowledge of the first team would throw out the names of Wayne Hennessey and Michael Kightly as potential targets for the Premiership sharks, something not lost on todays tabloids.

Kights is an alleged Spurs target, and Wayne Hennessey is on the shopping lists of Newcastle, Celtic, and Arsenal.

With Artur Boruc just having extended his Bhoys contract until 2011, a move to Celtic Park looks unlikely, and it's difficult to imagine Arsene Wenger paying the reported £4 mill price tag for a 'keeper.

Would he edge out Shay Given at St James'? Debateable to say the least.

It's also difficult to imagine a bid approaching anywhere near what it would take to replace Michael Kightly, who, for the meantime anyway, does nothing but reiterate his commitment to Wanderers, and the man who gave him his huge leg up the football league ladder.

With another three and a half weeks of media madness to go, those two names will probably appear many more times as speculation, wishful thinking and mischief continue through the first month of the year.
