'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Confidence Crisis Over?

From Hero to zero in less than 18 months.

Welcome to Molineux Mick.

Perhaps stretching the point, but in football, as in life, it is those who complain that make the most noise, and recently, there has been plenty of noise.

Today, Mick McCarthy acknowledged that he's felt it coming, and has stated that the only thing so far achieved has been to hammer it into his close knit squad that their only true friends can be found in the dressing room.

A siege mentality has evolved, with the team rallying round each other, and into that protective bubble now go two new faces.

Signings? This early in January?

While accusations of dragging his feet in the transfer whirl, dithering while others pounced were being aimed at the Wolves management, it appears Jez Moxey was busy unearthing another buy out clause in a highly rated players contract that has bought SEB to Molineux at a snip of his true market value.

And while profiting from others misfortune may not be palatable to some, the deal made to snatch cash strapped Luton's captain away from them was a good bit of business from the much maligned CEO.

So will this flurry of transfer activity help to restore some of last season's feel good factor?

Probably not, until results on the pitch start to mirror those in the transfer market.

But it's a start.
