Gray Hopes To Extend Stay

Daniel Jones temporary stint at Northampton may get extended following yet another impressive display against Gillingham on Saturday, topped by a match winning goal.

His stunning 20 yard free kick earned The Cobblers all three points, and high praise from former Wolves assistant manager Stuart Gray, now in charge at Sixfields Stadium.

'It was a great free kick from Daniel Jones, he's been working on them in training and I don't think any keeper could have saved it.' Gray said after the match

'His loan spell is up after the Orient game but I will be putting in another call to Mick McCarthy this week to see if we can hang on to him for a bit longer.'

Getting a run of first team games under his belt will only help to improve the 21 year old local lad who made 8 appearances for Wolves last season.

A product of the club's Academy, there are high hopes that Daniel will return ready to make a lasting impact upon his return.
