Not bothered in the slightest , they fielded a very strong side , where as most of ours haven't started a league game/needing minutes/not Stale's first picks so I'm glad the squad players got slapped , it means they know they have a long way to go to break into the first team , Pescko n Davis only players to come out with any credit really , Sigurdarson had ZERO service so we might aswell have played with 6 midfielders , Good to see Ismail get his first taste , shame Chelsea dont produce any of their academy , Di Matteo must have considered Wolves squad players a real threat haha , Oscar Hazard and Marin ( 60m's worth ) come on when 4-0 up , no wonder the national side will struggle in years to come , City n Chelsea had 1 English academy player out of 36 between them , Chelsea had 9 chances and scored 6 , first was a foul , pen was never a pen and apparently 2nd went out of play so lets not get onto Stale's back , Sheff Wed on sat is far more important , 3 games in 6 days with two away is bad enough but 4 in 9 with 3 away is farrrrrrr to much to expect so I'm totally behind the decision to rest 10 , happy with the effort , happy with 2 or 3 performances , fans were brilliant and and Chelsea would have battered anyone last night , come on boys take it out on Sheff Wed saturday , Wolves ay we :-)

Not just the result, the game itself never mattered. These Cup games are distractions and constitute additional risks of injury to players. They are for clubs hovering below the top 5 or 6 in the PL. Let the Newcastles and the Evertons take them seriously, it gives them a reasonable chance of lifting some silverware come spring. Clubs like WW have to concentrate on one main objective, all else is a diversion that could undermine that objective, as in fact was the case, and on more than one occasion, in the Bully years. In the top two, then a 'fantastic Cup run' dissipates the energy of the team and promotion is missed again. STS has seen through this and fielded an inexperienced side. His talk about 'taking the responsibility' is all diplomatic nonsense. He must have forseen it. Away to a top 5 PL club in the 3rd round of FA Cup would be ideal.

Then why enter the competition? It's about time this was brought to a head because it's becoming ridiculous. If the argument is that all clubs enter out of respect for the League Cup, it's history and tradition, then they've a funny way of showing it.

Will - not bothered but still managed to write a *****load? As for your nonsense regarding our young Englishmen, let me tell you that the young lad who made De Vries look like an amateur on our second goal was Ryan Bertrand who has a CL winners medal to his name already and is enjoying a fine breakthrough season into the senior England team as well. As for the rest, it looks like you've already forgotten that we mauled your U21's at the Bridge two weeks ago? And we weren't short on Englishmen that day. And while we are at it, the three best of our lot are currently playing in the Championship. Watch out when you face Middlesbrough, Watford and Nottingham.

Winston , our players had 3 games in 6 days and with Chelsea that meant 4 in 9 and 3 long away trips , Chelsea have had 2 in 7 , they would be a lot fresher than us so it made sense to change the lot , if you want to have a moan have a moan at the Premier league and cup organisers , to make the league cup fairer ties should be played in the international break , give smaller clubs a chance of going far in it and it would mean these big clubs would have to play their academy players and MAYBE England would have some youth coming through a hell of a lot more than now !
Will the Wanderer
Fr Lamp Wolves beat Utd academy 3-0 and the lad who came on was Ismail so your point about beating us makes it look even more silly , why not play them ????? , Betrand , so he is a youth player now is he ????? , sorry my aplogies I didn't know he was playing for your academy team , idiot !
Will the Wanderer
And Bertrand will soon be dropped for Gibbs who is twice the player Bertrand is !
Will the Wanderer
What a total load of rambling sh**e!
winstonsmith84
Get your shoite together you complexed kid. I'm talking about producing young lads. Bertrand is at Chelsea since his mid 15's. Gibbs twice the player Bertrand is? Saying that out of pure frustration, or are you being serious? Either way you suck. Good night fella.
FrLamp
Hey whats with the abuse , typical Chelsea , was you one of those when you used to get 6,000 fans for home games hahahaha ???? , MY ARGUMENT was there was not one player out of your CURRENT not 2/3 years ago CURRENT academy side that was either ENGLISH or on your bench for a league cup tie against a Wolves side that had squad players from 1-11 , now without abuse can you give me a reason for that ? , Utd had 4/5 yesterday hmmmm doubt you will come back with a response unless its to say . what a load of ****e kid ??? , as for Gibbs I think you will find people were saying He was ready to be Coles replacement for England once Cole retired , and then Gibbs had that bad injury , Bertrand as a left back isn't brilliant , good squad player yes but he would be 4th choice for me at left back for England , Cole-Baines-Gibbs-Bertrand , I await the abuse !
